What are you doing?

• I'm converting an internal combustion engine (or ICE) driven car into an electric motor driven car.
• I am creating a resource through this blog which will document the entire conversion and hopefully make it easier for others to undertake conversions themselves.
• I am raising money to finance the project.

Why are you doing this?

I HAVE A DREAM!

• SLOW GLOBAL WARMING AND SAVE THE PLANET I'm convinced that EVs are imperative to the survival of our planet and subsequently us.
• BREAK OUR ADDICTION TO OIL switching away from oil lessens it's influence in our domestic and international politics.
• SUPER EFFICIENT Electric Motor driven cars are proven to be reliable, and efficient (they use energy much, much more efficiently than a gas burning car).  So far, they are the most promising solution for our transportation problem.
• REDUCE AIR POLLUTION IN URBAN AREAS Cleaner air is good for our lungs and might combat the surge of asthma among young children in metropolitan areas.
• REDUCE NOISE POLLUTION EVs are quieter.
• JUST PLAIN COOL!!! If you've ever driven one, you know what I mean.

Why conversion vs buying a new EV?

• REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE

While there are other ways to go, such as buying a new electric car or building an electric car from the ground up, the conversion is the most economical way to get into an electric car (that satisfies my needs).  With a conversion I am reusing and recycling a car that already exists instead of adding another chunk of metal to our landfills. The new electric cars currently available that fit my needs are way out of my price range.

When are you doing this?

Why should I give you some of my hard-earned money?

Banks look at you real funny-like when you ask for an auto loan to convert a car to electric...it is impossible to finance a conversion through any traditional channels.

Reasons you might want to give include, but are not limited to:

• Helping to get another gas burning car off the road
• You may not be ready to convert a car yourself, so live vicariously through me...I'm ready!  Your donation will go straight to this environmentally friendly project, not into the pocket of an administrator sitting in an office somewhere.
• Be ahead of your time and part of the energy independent future
• Maybe you have so much money you don't know what to do with it
• Or you just plain like to make other people smile
